We heading back from our holiday in Cornwall today and I’ve come to the realisation that I might be middle-aged.
What led to this outrageous revelation?
I’ve drank more ale than I have lager.
I’ve only had a total of about 8 or 9 pints over the week and in my 20’s that would be the first night out. However, I’ve definitely appreciated the ales when we’ve eaten out.
Is drinking ales and craft beer enough to make me middle aged?
There are other signs too. I feel a little creaky in the mornings, I definitely take more time to recover from injury, Aunt May is more attractive than Mary Jane in the new Spider-Man films, I get wound up when I get home and every light is on.
However, I still love all the fun things I did when I was younger. I still like to feel fit and strong, I did have a couple of pints of lager, I’ve been watching power-rangers with the kids.
I guess the main hint is that I don’t actually mind. I’m happy with who I am and where I am as a person.
I’ve been working on myself over the past 6 months and I’m living true to my beliefs and values; I’ve written about these in the past and will share again. When I re-read the post this week, I was really pleased to see that my values are the same as they were nearly a decade ago.
It was a great reminder to myself as I was “feeling” like I’d lost a little bit of me when our kids moved in.
We’d let the coaching side of our bootcamp business slip as we focused on the kids settling in. We’re now in a position to add this back in.
Your health is way more than just fitness and food, we want our members to feel good about every aspect of their life.
