Nature in our lives.
Yesterday, we took the kids to Spencer’s Retreat in Berkswell – https://www.thelangdaletrust.com/
It was my first time there, it’s essentially an open space that you can hire. It has some farm animals to feed, play equipment, a picnic area and everything a child might need to run wild.
It was great because me, Fran and my sister-in-law could have a chat knowing that the kids were safe and loving the space.
The weather was kind and the Autumn sun felt great.
We fed and stroked the animals, played some games, chilled and listened to the birds.
It was exactly what I needed to replenish my batteries.
As modern humans we don’t give ourselves enough time to be out in nature. To simply be.
We worry about all of the things we need to get done.
One of the things that has really helped me recently has been to spend a little time each day, focusing on and appreciating the things that I have and the things I GET to do.
We all have a tendency to moan a little about the things we HAVE to do, yet if we flip it and see that we GET to do them when others can’t, it can help us appreciate them.
Try it, I do it as part of a meditation but a few minutes sat waiting for a cup of coffee to be cool enough to drink can be classed as a meditation. It’s just a word to describe trying to think about something not a magical practice.
Give it a go.
