It’s not always possible to get to the gym or even have a gym membership. That doesn’t mean you can’t do any exercise though.
I often write about the benefits of simply getting started by walking a lap of the block outside your house.
I’ve done one of our bootcamp workouts in our hallway to prove a point in the past. If you can roll a yoga mat out, there isn’t much you can’t achieve.
One of the benefits of lockdown was it set in motion the option for us to have a workout at home. We’re lucky, we have gym equipment in our garage and I regularly train on the patio with a couple of friends.
The key is to have an idea of what your goal is and take some steps towards achieving that.
The kids have just had a 50 lap race of our kitchen, clearly only walking my sisters dog wasn’t enough movement for them today.
We haven’t got a very big kitchen, it was hilarious to watch.
K then decided she was making it a mud run and started army crawling in circles on the floor.
They both had great fun and highlighted something really important about exercise.
If you enjoy it, you’re more likely to do it.
Therefore, find a version you enjoy and will want to do. That way you will be consistent.
Consistency wins.
