I’ve had a bit of a mard on in the house over the last couple of days.

I’ve been doing lots of DIY and little jobs have took too long, led to other jobs / ideas etc.  Which has taken up more time than I had planned, as a result I’ve felt pressured.

Felt is the operative word there.

I haven’t actually been pressured, it’s just been a feeling hanging over me to get things done straight away.

I’ve missed yoga sessions I had planned in because I thought the DIY was more important and needed to be done.

I know the yoga helps me chill out and would have actually given me more time from being more chilled and planning the jobs better.

The same with meditation, my brain works better when I take some time to meditate and focus every few days.  When I let the habit slip, I don’t notice until I notice that my moods shift quicker.

The little thing I want you to do today for the adding on for Lent is to take 5 minutes for yourself.

Be it, a walk, reading an article, a longer shower, a little nap, breath work, meditation or playing a game on your phone.  Just do it on purpose and appreciate the time rather than scrolling mindlessly.

Fran and the kids are out and have the bits I need for the next phase of DIY so I’m going to take 5 minutes to meditate / nap.  I have a black out eye mask that helps for the daytime, it’s getting a bit old and the elastic is going, meaning it’s not quite daytime blackout; it definitely helps though.

Writing this has convinced me to upgrade, this is the one I’m going for https://amzn.to/34bXL7U

What will you do for 5 minutes?
