If you have met my son, you will be very aware of the fact that he is essentially a stick of dynamite, bursting with energy and constantly finding ways to use it.
At the park this morning, he decided to jump off a 6ft platform. His landing didn’t go to plan and I had to nip him in to A&E.
It went really smoothly, I’m truly grateful for our NHS. An X-ray confirmed what I suspected, a broken meta-tarsal.
A compression boot was required, unfortunately, they didn’t have one in his size.
A nurse strapped him up and said to keep him in it for 3 weeks. 3 weeks, I laughed and said I would do well if I could keep a bandage on him for 3 hours.
I was right, he pulled it off within the hour.
Thankfully, I have a friend who works at another hospital and she dropped a boot in for him.
An hour later and we were at the park and he was testing how much he could do with it on.
Nurture is winning and he definitely has his glass half full and is always pushing his limits.
Life will always throw stuff at you, you get to choose how you respond. Respond in the way that serves you the best.
