We’re definitely through the first week of New Year resolutions now.

How has the first week gone?

I managed to get back to some form of regular activity, which was my aim for the week.  I did a couple of BJJ sessions, three yoga sessions, a bike ride and taught a couple of Kung Fu classes.

We also got out for a walk with my sisters dog for a few walks too.

Food didn’t go that well, which I expected.  The kids sleep routine was off and we were both tired.  Our meals were good but will power when sleep deprived doesn’t exist for me.

There were too many options in the house to finish off before we could get started properly.

We’ve planned our meals this week and got off to a good start, sprout curry and egg on toast, random but really tasty.  I have had a few biscuits (thanks Suzy and M&S) today but have also climbed for an hour and will have done 2 bootcamp sessions by the end of the day.

I’m over my calorie target for the day but I’ll easily be able to get back under by the end of the week.

I was speaking to one of our members this morning about that.  Trying to be perfect on your diet can work for a short term goal but for long term success it’s important to be consistent with your daily actions, the odd meal out or pack of biscuits won’t be a problem if the rest of your day, week, month, year or decade is sort of on track.

If you ave struggled to keep to your fitness routine or diet, review which bits you have found hard to keep.  If you need any help, let me know.
