Life is for living, yet we get so busy in life that we don’t always get the time.
This time of year is slightly different because we tend to have holidays booked where we get a chance to chill and either switch off or do some of the things that we enjoy.
However, over the past few years I know too many people who have been focused on the end goal, pushing work every hour of the day; to not actually get there because a health issue took precedent.
My basics of health changed when I had a basal cell carcinoma; not much on the scale of cancers but enough to make me have a little think about life.
We can’t guarantee tomorrow let alone next year, so try to fit something you enjoy in to your weekly life.
It doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated.
On Tuesday nights, I live my best life.
I teach my kung fu class, one of my favourite things, then I become the student and go to my instructors class, then jiu jitsu with some of my best friends. This week my instructors class wasn’t on so I had a full night at https://coventrymartialartscentre.com doing a combination of street self defence, striking, Kali and jiu jitsu.
Martial arts give me everything I need from a mindset and fitness point of view. As suspected, I’m currently on 0/12 of the strength sessions I’m doing while my friend is away. I just don’t enjoy training in the gym on my own.
If you fancy learning a martial art, the guys I train with have just set up a new place at Coventry and North Warwickshire Cricket Club, check out the timetable at the link above. New classes are coming soon to suit all levels.
