We had a guest instructor at Jiu Jitsu last night.
I’ve known him and trained with him a few times over the years but this was the first time in Jiu Jitsu.
Brian is an amazing coach in everything he does, last night he focused on doing the basics really well. Just adding a little twist to the way we did it. A slightly different way to position your body for better leverage or using your weight to add some extra pressure and making it more uncomfortable for your partner / opponent.
I’ll try to take on board everything we did and make it fit my game.
However, it’s more important that I still drill / practice the basics that my regular Professors and Coaches have been teaching me from the start.
In exercise and more so in diet, I see so many people watching a reel or video on social media and changing everything they do because on the internet it said they would get amazing results.
It’s often the people who haven’t got the basics right.
A reminder of the basics:
Good quality sleep.
Eat lots of vegetables and some good quality protein.
Move every day.
Get sweaty most days.
Drink enough water to be hydrated.
Get outside.
Once you do those things consistently, you can start to think about tweaking what you are doing to improve your results.
If you are ready to make changes and are not sure where to start, let me know and I can help.
