It was pointed out to me earlier that because The 1st was a Sunday and Monday was a Bank Holiday, New Year’s resolutions don’t count or start until Monday 9th January 2023.
I like it, it gives much more time to finish off the cheese, biscuits and tins of chocolates.
Did you start on Sunday or Monday?
What have you done?
As stated, I’ve got started on the basics while working out my outcomes for quarter 1.
I’ve pretty much nailed my morning routine, have trained a couple times and been to bed on time.
Unfortunately, I have come down with a bit of lurgy and sleep quality hasn’t been great and I feel hungrier than normal. I’ve upped a couple of my sups to combat feeling run down.
If you haven’t started yet, don’t go balls out in the first week.
Too many people try to do too much exercise and reduce too many calories / food groups in the first weeks / month and burn out.
A better and more successful approach is to focus on adding in a habit or two at a time. If you don’t do any exercise, going for a brisk walk after work is a good place to start with maybe a few squats and press ups when you get back. Nail that for a couple of weeks and up the level.
With food, try adding in an extra portion of veggies each day and maybe looking at monitoring or increasing the protein content at each meal.
You don’t need to be perfect, a little bit better than you were yesterday consistently gets you a long way.
