What a wonderful bank holiday weekend we’ve just had!
Darren was away teaching at a Kung Fu training camp all day Saturday so I just had the kids at home and then over to my Mum and Dad’s for tea – what a difference the weather makes – normally a full day at home would fill me with dread but with the ability to go out in the garden and over the park it’s so much easier…
…also easier is the ability to make good food choices – well certainly for me anyway!
In the winter our bodies seem to naturally crave those stodgy foods that are warming to our system but in the summer – especially when it’s as hot as this – it’s sooooo much easier to feel like munching a big healthy salad!
It seems crazy that just a couple of weeks ago I was sharing a ‘winter warmer’ soup in the newsletter to warm us up and now – just 2 weeks later everyone is eating tonnes of salad!
If, you’re getting a bit sick of salad or just fancy something a little different have a look at our Summer Cookbook – there are so many delicious recipes in it, you can see the list here Summer Cookbook
It is specifically aimed at anyone cutting out the big 3 – Wheat, Dairy & Sugar – but to be honest the meals are so tasty anyone would find some inspiration here.
We had a barbecue on Monday and I did enjoy a nice cold glass of white wine with it – is there anything better than barbecue food, sunshine, family and wine?
As I said last week I’ve been struggling a bit with my ‘responsibility list’ – it seems so long and I’m always being pulled in different directions – to the detriment of my friendships and my relationship with my husband at times. I’m sure anyone who has (had) young children can sympathise with that but a couple of days switching off from work and just spending quality time at home with the kids has really boosted me.
So, I’m back ready to have a productive – albeit slightly shorter, hence the late email – week!
My Pilates classes are all pretty much full which is great! But, I’m still trying to promote my Buggy Beat classes – the free trials are next week. I know how time-strapped people who look after pre-schoolers are as I’m one of them!
But if you do know of anyone with a pre-schooler at home – not just mum’s but grandparents, dads, aunties, uncles, childminders etc please do spread the word.
They can check out the website here https://teamachieve.co.uk/buggy-beat/ and sign up to the newsletter if they’d like more info.
Or they can join my facebook group to get all the latest info that way
Thanks all, see you next week
