Before Boris changed the rules at the weekend, I felt pretty confident that I would be ok to get a turkey at some point this week.  When the rule changed to only having one day with your family apparently, the country went crazy for small turkeys.

One of my therapy clients told me earlier that some home shopping deliveries were turning up without the turkey.

I was a little nervous heading off to the Ricoh, we always get a voucher for M&S so that was my first call.

For the last few years, we’ve had a crown of some sort.  That section was empty apart from a few that looked like they’d been bashed about a bit.

The next section looked promising, too big.

I was starting to feel like Goldilocks – too bashed, too big, what was going to be next.

As in the three bears, it was just right.

Pigs in blankets were nowhere to be seen.  Some cocktail sausages and streaky bacon were though, it will be fun getting the kids to make them.

Things rarely go to plan, that’s only a problem if you struggle to adapt.  That happens more often when you are feeling low and tired.

This week, when everything might change without our approval try to prepare by having a couple of early nights.

Christmas day is an early start for those with kids, although it doesn’t change our wake time.  Get some extra sleep in the bank over the next couple of nights and thank me for it on Friday.
