Great advice from a PT in January 🤣

“Take it easy”.

I mean to 🎵take it easy on yourself🎶, that is; don’t beat yourself up if you haven’t managed to get to the gym yet or hit your calorie target.

Your success for the year isn’t decided in these first few days.

Don’t get me wrong it’s good to gain momentum when the rest of the world is doing the same, it just that sometimes it’s not the right time for us as individuals.

After my all nighters at the hospital on Sunday night, my ability to make sensible non-biscuit food choices has been reduced.  Sleep deprivation does that to you, sweet carby foods simply find their way in to your mouth 😉

I have however, managed to get to kung fu and jiu jitsu to train, sone a strength circuit and a couple of mobility sessions to keep my back injury under control.

I’m going to watch the goal setting training from my coach this evening when the kids have settled and get some clarity on this quarters goal when I’m in the office tomorrow.

Early 2025, changed how I thought about the basics of health and being kind to myself became the priority after having surgery on my face to make me look ruggedly attractive with an action man scar.  There may have been a little BCC removal too.

That surgery made the first step of the basics of health and fitness to be aware of your body, how it feels, moves etc and if something feels off, get it looked at by a professional.  If you’re not happy with what they say, get a second opinion and always listen to your partner.  Fran had been telling me to get a second opinion for about 18 months before I went for one.

The next step sort of ties in with that and is simply acceptance of where you are in life.  From that acceptance, you can then make plans to move forwards, stay where you are or even take a few steps back.  Life is in fact for living, and if you don’t have time for that, it’s something to think about.

Working with a coach can speed up the process, we’re here for you if you need us.
