This is the approach for multiple things regarding your health and fitness.
The first being what you’re actually working towards, your goal.
The more specific you can be the better, I think that is why fitness goals that conclude with an event are generally more successful. There’s a definitive thing that you have to be ready for rather than the vague, I want to be fitter.
The event itself can be anything, a hike up a mountain or multiple mountains in a day, a Hyrox, a triathlon, a park run, a swimathon, a martial arts grading.
The options are limitless, you can sign up for organised events or simply put a date in your diary. The organised events can’t be changed and you have a financial cost for not being ready so they tend to be better if you struggle to get going.
I generally have an organised events or simply, my first one this year being the Coventry Way, and a few mini ones of things I want to be able to do.
A pull up with A on my back and a handstand are the mini goals I’m working on this quarter, I might not achieve them but at least I’ll be moving forward.
When you start at the end, you can then break down the steps needed in to the available time line. That way you have the outline of a clear plan you can work on.
If you need help on a plan or even picking a goal, we can help.
