Our kids had a friend over last night for a sleepover for the first very first time.
We had pizza, some home-popped popcorn, watched Sing 2 and struggled to get them to sleep; all standard sleepover stuff.
This morning, we had pancakes, bacon sandwiches and croissants.
That was all planned so not a problem at all.
As you can imagine, our all ready broken sleep was disrupted even more. Not to do with the kids, Fran and I couldn’t settle properly as we were listening out for mischief and the street was busy last night.
Disrupted sleep leaves you feeling really tired the next day; we both had a power nap pre-midday.
That tiredness leads you to searching out quick calories, something easy to stuff in.
Ideally, you’d go for some nutritious with a good hit of protein. I went for something I saw on a facebook video – a version of a hot dog sandwich 🤦♂️.
Thankfully, we’re BBQing later and Fran has made a nice salad and I will stick with the meat and won’t have any bread. That means I won’t go that far over my calorie allowance for the day, which in turn means I can easily make up the difference over the next couple of days.
When looking at calories, it’s important to see it as a weekly total rather than worry too much about the specifics on a single day. That way it’s easier to still hit the target.
If the target is easier to hit, it’s more likely that you‘ll be consistent.
Consistency is king when it comes to results.
How could you make it easier to be consistent with diet and exercise?
