Yesterday, I wrote about making small changes to your day that could have a big impact on your long term goals.

How do you know if they are making a difference?

You simply track and measure some simple variables.  I’m a big fan of the tape measure for circumference measurements, they give an accurate number of how body changes are going.

More accurate than weighing when done correctly but a little more complicated to do on yourself.

However, the same can be achieved with clothing or a belt.  Especially in these casual Covid-wear times.

I hadn’t realised how much weight I had gained when the kids moved in until we went to a wedding and I wasn’t on the same hole of my belt; I was barely on my belt.  My suit felt tight and I was really uncomfortable.

I didn’t notice my shape changing because as a general role I wear sports kit for work and a canvas belt on my jeans.

If you’re back to working from home, it’s worth wearing “proper” work clothes once per week to keep a check on the waist line.

If you choose to weigh yourself, make sure your scales are in the exact same place every day.  Focus on the changes over a 2 week period rather than daily, so much fluctuates on a daily basis but over two weeks you should be seeing a trend in the right direction.

If you aren’t tracking your results, you will never truly know if you are heading in the right directions and if you need to tweak anything.

What could you start tracking to move you closer to your goals?
