I last messaged in January, my goal last quarter was to send at least 50, I made it to 7.

Not exactly a success.

At the end of every quarter, I review the goals I set myself to get an idea of what worked and what didn’t work.  Then try to establish the reasons behind the success or take the lesson.

The lesson from my lack of emails is that I now have to schedule time to write them in my diary.

The kids are older and don’t go to bed as early, I used to write when they were asleep.

I’m getting the chance to do this one tonight because Fran has covered my bootcamp class.  I did The Coventry Wayyesterday and my feet are a bit of a mess from the distance and how wet and muddy the ground was from mile one.

40 miles is a tough hike without adding in the slipping, sliding and being submerged from the ankle down.

It’s a great event and every year, I say I’m going to be more consistent with my preparations.  Again, the intent is there but if things aren’t planned in, they are easy to avoid / miss.

We all do it.  Set out with the best intentions to lose our way after a couple of weeks.

It’s one of the reasons you need to have a programme to follow if you go to the gym.  Just going to the gym and doing a bit trumps not going.

Having a programme to follow that is written specifically for you, your goals, the equipment available and how much time you have will get you better results.

On my job list this week is to find a way to make my daily task list and overall goals more visible, so I don’t get to the end of the day and realise I haven’t done something.

For example, I wanted to reset the Alexa lights as they haven’t worked since a broadband change; I remembered when I got the kids ready for bed.

Being clear on what you want and having a plan to achieve it makes it a more simple process.

If there’s anything you need help with from a coaching, fitness, nutrition or injury point of view, let me know.
