It’s December which means the Checkley house can get going on Christmas.
By Checkley house, I mean me; as the other 3 broke the rules last week and put decorations up etc and K has been watching Christmas movies on Netflix for at least a month.
Pre-kids, I didn’t get involved in Christmas until after Fran’s birthday on the 11th.
As with everything, the rules of life, fitness and nutrition need to have a little freedom.
Improvise. Adapt. Overcome as Bear Grylls and Clint Eastwood say.
I feel like I’ve gone full Christmas already.
Christmas baking yesterday with Yule Logs and ginger biscuits with the kids and one of their best friends.
Today I’ve been to the local Adoption UK Christmas party and been decorated as a snowman and eaten my first mince pie of the season along with a couple of mince pies.
Fran balanced out the meals for the day with a spicy lentil taco type thing for dinner.
And that’s ultimately what it’s all about, finding a way to balance the Christmas festivities with normal life and managing energy.
A smaller meal or a little extra activity each day to balance the week.
Don’t complicate it.
