And that’s if I make it to 80 years old 😳

I’m listening to a great book – Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman – https://amzn.to/3QRit2r

It’s a sort of anti-productivity productivity book.

The premise being that we only have a finite amount of time, 4000 weeks if you make it to 80.  With that limited time we can only do so much.

The aim of the author is to help you understand that we will ultimately fill all of the time we have, so choose wisely and don’t worry about the things you can not do.

Focus more on the Joy of Missing Out rather than the Fear of Missing Out.

After the first chapter I felt a bit low, realising that I’d had a pretty dull week and if I’ve got so few left I want to have adventure in every single one.

That’s not the point of the book though.

We can’t visit every amazing place on the planet, so appreciate the beauty in the places you do get to visit.

We can’t possibly try every experience, hobby, sport, food, drink or cake, so appreciate everything you do get to do.  Although, I’m going to keep trying on the cake front.

I’m definitely guilty of not appreciating the life that I get to lead at times and I’m going to change that to include more gratitude in my day.

It’s already part of a meditation I do and part of my weekly journal review but a couple of minutes each day could be added as a little mood boost.

Realising I was moaning about the traffic I was stuck in, rather than accepting the extra time I had with A in the car while he was in a jabbering mood helped me appreciate the car broken down at the bottom of the A444.

What could you add or take away from your week to improve it?
