Part of my weekly focus goal is to do at least 3 meditations and a chi gung session.
I’ve been trying some different guided meditations and thought I’d do the same with chi gung and did a follow along one from YouTube a friend suggested.
It was nice but would need a little knowledge of the routine prior as it didn’t include any instructions just calm music and copying the Shaolin Monk on screen.
At the end there was a quote that really resonated with me.
“There are two mistakes along the way to mastery: not starting it and not going all the way”.
Getting started on a fitness or nutrition plan can seem hard, especially at this time of the year when it seems dark and cold all the time and weekends are already being full with parties.
The key is to just do it. Make a commitment to yourself and keep it.
The hard part and the thing we see a lot, is people giving up before they have even started to realise their full potential, not even close to mastering the required skills to succeed. Often because they don’t see results immediately or as rapidly as they were led to believe could happen.
How many times have you jumped from one eating plan to another? One type of fitness class or programme to the latest fad?
I find the thing that keeps me on track is accountability and being part of a group. I hate missing Jiu Jitsu as I don’t want to let my training partner down and a little bit of FOMO that I might miss the fun stuff.
My accountability group keep me on track daily with doing what I said I would at the start of the day, sometimes this includes hitting a calorie target if I know it might be a day where I’ll be tempted.
Working out with our home bootcamp groups is something I look forward to as I know I will put more effort in when I’m training with our members. A win win all round.
Showing up and putting the reps in consistently is the bit thae leads to mastery and the results we all want to achieve.
If you’re struggling to do it on your own, we start a fresh block in the morning. This is the easiest time of the year to build the habit of getting up early as the clocks have done most of the work for you.
Let me know if you want in.
