I’m often asked about which supplements I take.

Before answering it’s important to point out that supplements are the cherry on the Belgian Bun, something to enhance a thing that is already pretty good.

If you’re nutrition plan involves a man in a face mask on a funny bike knocking on your door most days, then taking supplements is pretty pointless.

If you’re actively involved in preparing the food that you eat and want to enhance how you feel, a few supplements are worthwhile.

Fran and our kids have a greens drink, powdered green vegetables, every morning as a back up plan and we’re fortunate enough to be friends with the couple that run Lean Greens.  They recently sent us a “care” package with a their upgraded greens drink in, more on that another day, and their new “Drift Off” formula.

Sleep quality is something that I have written about lots since our kids moved in, and something that I struggle with.  My brain is a problem solving machine and often is processing lots of information as I’m trying to get to sleep.

The whole week we were on holiday, I didn’t have a single green recovery on my Whoop band, even though we were really active each day and I felt really chilled.

We got home and I started on the “Drift Off” formula straight away, I had a green recoveries for the first few nights and actually had dreams, something that I rarely remember having.  The only night I have had an amber recovery after taking it was after jiu jitsu and I was only 1% away rather than the usual 30-40%.

Hard exercise and combat an hour before bed isn’t great for sleep quality but it’s a sacrifice I’m prepared to make.

The “Drift Off” magic is in the type of magnesium used with some green tea and chamomile extract.  I’ve really noticed a difference to how well rested I’ve felt on the days I remember to take it.

If you use our link, we get a small commission, however, we only ever recommend products that we actually use and pay for ourselves.

If you try it, let me know how you get on.
