If you’re having trouble with sleep quality, getting to sleep or restless sleep, what you do at the other end of the day can have a great influence.

Getting some morning light in to your eyes is really important for setting your daily clock, ideally without a window or windscreen in the way.

The best way to do that is having a little walk, 10 – 30 minutes is ideal if you can fit it in.

Yesterday, I went for a training walk with a couple of friends to get us started on our training for the Coventry Way at the start of April.  The sun rise was amazing, actually not only the sun rise, the whole walk was; the frost on the ground and trees simply looked spectacular.

Poor sleep affects every aspect of your life.  I know when I’m tired making good food choices goes out of the window, I can exercise but only if I’m training with somebody, solo training is put off until later and later never comes.

Something as simple as getting some morning light and listening to your body when you feel ready to sleep rather than finishing the episode you’re on, can have a massive effect.

Try it for a couple of days, it makes a difference.
