That’s a question we often get when our members first follow The Real Food Plan.

For example, the above pork joint with crackling would cause most slimming clubs to reach for a dry low fat cereal bar with 50 ingredients in to cover the fact it tastes like cardboard and guinea pig pellets.

I’m not suggesting that you should eat the whole joint to yourself, we have simple to follow portion options that sort of look after themselves.  If they don’t we do some weighing and measuring to keep a check on calories.

In it’s strictest form, The Real Food Plan does exactly that; focuses on foods that are in their most natural state, cooking is allowed.  We avoid the processed aisles and concentrate on fruits, vegetables, some pulses and grains, some meat and fish.

The initial phase also aims to avoid caffeine, sugar, dairy, alcohol, wheat and gluten.  These are the things that we have found to have an adverse affect on members over the years, bloating, skin problems, poor sleep etc.  Those things are then gradually re-introduced to see what happens.

Pre-kids, I didn’t understand how people struggled so much.  Then our energy grenades moved in, we were certainly humbled and altered our approach.

We now help our members find the version of the plan that can work in their situation and tweak from there.

We found that results take a little more time but become part of their lifestyle and last much longer.  And ultimately that’s the most important part.

I’ll give some more details of how it will all work with Team Achieve @ Home tomorrow.
